Show Two Honored At Escalante City Council Meeting ESCALANTE Councilman Howard Miller will serve as Escalante 's mayor until the November municipal elections following the recent resignation of former mayor Wade Barney. Barney and Dorothy Simpson, a 13-year veteran as city clerk who also resigned to take a different position, were honored by the council Tuesday night for their years of dedicated service to the community. Barney had served an earlier four-year term and after a break was elected once again to the mayor's post, resigning just a few months short of completing his second term. The council appointed Don Porter to take Miller's place on the city council. |
