Show Ccnncnvi!S2I;v;s By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Alma and Anita Fletcher went to California and spent three days seeing sights at Death Valley National Na-tional Park. They were very impressed im-pressed with Scotty's Castle. Kay Mar and Mary Jean Willis and family, Antimony, came to visit their mother and grandmother, Bonnie Willis, on Monday night. They brought a lovely dinner and Family Home Evening program. Bonnie said it was a beautiful evening, even-ing, We didn't appreciate the April Fool's joke that Mother Nature played on us. We were happy to have the nice spring weather that made us feel like planting gardens, but last Thursday we were hit by a cold blast from Old Man Winter. Saturday night, we got about six inches of snow that we really needed and are grateful for. When the Lions Club members were hiding their Easter eggs and other goodies at the park, they wondered if any children would venture ven-ture out in the cold to search for them. But when the time came to start, children literally poured out of the cars and in the excitement of finding all that candy, they didn't even notice how cold it was. All the children were well-rewarded with Easter goodies. There was plenty for all. Vaughn Twitchell went to the LDS Temple in St. George on Sunday to spend this week. Joseph and Debra Salas and children, Jessica, Angela, Ashley, Eric and Keith visited with Jim and Erma Clarke this weekend. Michael Mi-chael Clarke also came from Mesa, Ariz., to visit his parents. They attended a Lions Club meeting in Mayfield Thursday night. Saturday night, Roxanna Johnson John-son took an unplanned ambulance ride to the Garfield Memorial Hospital. Hos-pital. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Cox, Or-derville Or-derville visited their grandparents, Golden and Roxanna Johnson Wednesday. We are happy to have Chris and Andrea McCormick and sons, Brent, Marty and Bobbie living in their home here again. We really missed them while they were living at Ticaboo. Jennilyn Thompson and daughter, daugh-ter, Allison, of Salem, and Clea Baker, formerly of Boulder, were here visiting their Thompson relatives. rela-tives. They had been to Escalante to attend the burial service for Neal Pollock, a cousin. Joe and Violet Rae Hughes, Don Mangum and Kay Dunham, Ramona Morreale, and Larry and Glenna Fletcher all went to the Manti LDS Temple to attend the wedding of Joey Matthews and Aloha Gent. Rex Fletcher, Salt Lake City, visited his dad, Clele Fletcher at the care center and his mother, Marva Fletcher. He has the contract to do the electric wiring in all the post offices throughout the state, preparatory pre-paratory to having the new scanning scan-ning systems installed. Every Monday morning, he gets a list of the offices they want ready for the week. He did Torrey and Richfield, then spent the night in Cannonville. Cannon-ville. Then, on to Mt. Carmel Junction, Summit and St. George. J.J. Dunham, grandson of Anna and the late Jay Dunham, was baptized bap-tized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church on Saturday. Speakers in LDS Sacrament Meeting on Sunday were Cathy Mathews, Gail and Bryce Fletcher. An Easter hymn was sung by the choir, and High Council member Sharon Dale Marsh was the concluding con-cluding speaker. |
