Gary and Sandy Johnson made a trip to Salt Lake City, along with daughter Esther. Lance and Barbara, and Margo, jared and Riley Smith, all of Escalante, Esca-lante, stopped by to visit Rae and Jim Smith. Mitch Henderson had friends Brandon Myler and Brandon Faul of West Valley City visit him. Visiting Ernie and Wynona Henderson over Easter weekend were Trish DiSera and Dani and Niki DiSera, of Magna. The weather was cold and not much Eastering was done. Here to help Danielle DiSera celebrate her 10th birthday were Steve and Kathy Goulding, Tropic, and Kathryn Pollock, Trevor and Jolynn Pollock and daughter Calli, Bountiful. Cal and Martha Schow and granddaughters Tara Robbins and Josie Homer stopped by to see Ernie and Wynona Henderson's new home. They will be staying in Salt Lake City while Cal continues therapy. Esther Johnson is trying to teach grandma Virginia all the rules of basketball. ..But you know, it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Doyle and Kathryn Nielson had visits from son Steve and three children and Kathy and Mike Murphy Mur-phy of Clearfield over Easter. Lula Moore and Darreld and Mary Lou Neilson went to Tropic to help Rory Hatch celebrate his 16th birthday. He is a son of Sher-rie Sher-rie Miller, Panguitch. Rhonda Shafer had Duane and Donna Metcalf of West Valley City for a visit. They also visited Lyl-lian Lyl-lian Shakespear while they were here. Seth and Marina Johnson are building a home here on a piece of the Dorian Johnson lot. Carlin and Heather Johnson's new home is really coming along. It is being built across from Mocking Mock-ing Bird Hill. Ken and JoAnne Goulding made a trip to Cedar City for dentist appointments. ap-pointments. The following day, they went to Richfield to keep an eye doctor appointment. There were some really strong winds here last week. A large tree was uprooted at the Oscar Willis home. Iris Bushnell's storage shed was blown over and the roof blew off the Mike Mitchell home! Mike and his small daughter were in the home at the time and they said it was very scary. They will stay in Tropic until the repairs are made. The LDS Ward choir presented their Easter Cantata on Sunday. Many hours were spent in preparation prepara-tion for it and it was well worth their efforts. Dave Roberts has injured his back and will be down for a few days. Valeene Roberts took the children to help out. Eugene Quilter is home and doing do-ing well after back surgery in Las Vegas. Wife LaKay and son Gene accompanied him. We are glad to see Bob Willis home after recent heart surgery. Allen and Joanne Miller and Laurel and Louise Holman went to Oregon to the funeral of sister Ada Miller Hardy. The Bert Leaches are home from the winter in St. George. Bruce Fullmer is home from Salt Lake City after serious surgery and is improving. Kaitlan Barney, daughter of Bob and LaNell Brinkerhoff, had emergency emer-gency surgery in Cedar City. Good Friday Services were held at New Beginnings Baptist Church on Apr. 2. The Church was also in charge of Easter Sunrise Services at Sunset Point in Bryce Canyon National Na-tional Park. Panguitch Third Ward Primary Activity Day services were at the Cultural Hall on Apr. 3. The town Easter egg hunt was held last Friday at the Panguitch City Park. Mandy Houston, daughter of the Randy and Nancy Houston, and Joshua Soper, son of the Kim and Laurie Sopers, will be married on Apr. 10. Grandparents here are the Jack Sopers, Miles Barneys and Rich Hazel. Native Boyd Ipson, son of Nello and the late Isabel Ipson, was a recent recipient of the Silver Beaver award from the Boy Scouts of America. This is the highest award that can be bestowed upon a scout leader by the local council. Boyd, his wife and their five children reside re-side in Sandy. June Owens had Rick and Evelyn Eve-lyn Owens Dettamanti with her for a visit. They brought a headstone for placement in the local cemetery. Florence and Dan Frandsen went to Denver, Colo., to see their son David Frandsen and family. |
