Show By Marlene Haw a 826-4859 ,. A large group of Escalante and Boulder people accompanied our volleyball team to the Utah Valley Val-ley State College in Provo for the state volleyball tournament. We are very, proud of our girls and their coaches. Congratulations to all of them! Stanley and Marlene Stowe and Leah and Brenda Griffin went to Mesa, Ariz., to visit Jeff and Marilee Miller. Ron and Sidney Stowe flew into Phoenix, Ariz., from Salt Lake City. Marlene and Stan met them at the airport and they enjoyed two or three days of sightseeing in Phoenix, Tombstone, Old Tucson, Arizona and'in' Nogales, Mexico.. . Lots of activity going on lately. Car; commercials being shot at the head of the rocks be-, tween here and Boulder, photographers photog-raphers taking pictures of the Grand Staircase and the weather wasn't too cooperative at the time with lots of rain and cloudy skies. Pat Sorensen sold her house to Billy Spencer and moved to a smaller one in Moqui Gardens. ' Carpenters have completed a new garage and shedv for Sheila Woolley. Mark Minchey continues to clear land out by , the airport, but no construction taking place yet. Quinn Griffin is working on a , new log building, 'oh part of Weal Liston's lot, which will house his and Doneen's realty office . Andy Barnson, son of Barry and Linda Barnson is in the hospital hospi-tal in St. George where he has had surgery. Get well soon, Andy! Jim and Jeremy Alvey brought Eva Dean Liston home for an overnight stay. Eva Dean is still recovering from a heart attack, but seems to be doing better. They also checked on Jim's mother Fay Alvey. Fay is doing well since her surgery. She even gave the lesson in the "Daughters of Utah Pioneers meeting the last time. Jared Lyman arrived back in Boulder in time to give his LDS mission report on Oct. 25. Friends and relatives from here went over to hear him speak. Then, he came over here and taught semi7 nary one day. Our condolences to Ike Sevy and Jan Liston whose sister Freeda Woodard passed away at the St. George Care Center. Her home was in Hurricane and she was laid to rest in the Panguitch Cemetery. Jim and Deanna Greer came from Tremonton to visit Deanna's mother, Gwen Lyman. Gwen . went back with them to spend a week or so. Guests at the senior citizen center, on Thursday night were county commissioners, Maloy Dodds and Clare Ramsay; County ClerkAuditor Camille Moore; County Sheriff Than Cooper; Deputy Danny Perkins; and Dispatchers Dis-patchers Bob Harris, Mel Miller, and Chris Hatch. They explained and gave some insight into what the new County Justice Complex would be like if it were to be passed in Tuesday's election. We will be using new voting equipment equip-ment and they also explained how to use it. |
