Show Supports Commission I have been concerned for some time about the negative comments of some of our Garfield County citizens and others about our Garfield County Commissioners for taking such a staunch stand concerning the Burr Trail and against the environmental coalition. coali-tion. They had no other choice than to stand firm because they were right! Yes, it is nice to confirm what we already knew that Garfield County owns the Burr Trail right-of-way. I am particularly impressed to see Commission Chairman, Tom Hatch, emerging as a great leader and spokesman for the county. I was extremely impressed with the way he handled himself in the Ted Capencr Escalante TV presentation. He certainly put the lady environmentalist environ-mentalist in her place and got her to publicly (almost) admit the real devious reason for the coalition's pursual of the Burr Trail issue. To our good citizen from Hatch who voiced his disdain for the way Escalante and others treated the environmentalists, en-vironmentalists, I say, "Sham on you!" I thought they showed great restraint under the circumstances. Now, to those who have opposed op-posed the improvements of the Burr Trail, show some intelligence, back off, and let us move forward to improve im-prove the "lot" and economy for Garfield County citizens. Again, "Hats off" to Tom Hatch, Sherrell Ott, and Louise Liston, our county commissioners, and all other Garfield citizens who worked so diligently to win the Burr Trail fight. Sincerely, Wayne H.
