Show IFFA Rodeo Draws Large Attendance Both Saturday night's and Monday Mon-day night's FFA rodeos were counted successful, with Saturday's running two hours and Monday's three. Saturday night's buck sheep ride resulted in a first place tie, broken by a flip of the coin in the two to seven-year-old class. Brett Dalton captured the first place trophy with Falyn Owens settling for the belt buckle. Third place went to Acey Burningham. On Monday night, in the same age category, a three-way tie in the same event resulted in Travis Clinton Clin-ton ending up with the trophy, and Mike Marshall and Ryan Dastrup with belt buckles. In junior steer riding (8-13-year-olds), first place went to Colin Marshall and a tie for second resulted re-sulted in a second place for Bruce Tebbs and third for Sam Marshall. (See RODEO Page 3) RODEO Continued From Page 1-A I In senior steer riding, first place went to Ted Hurst, second to Scott Fry, and third to David Tebbs. The event was for 14-18-year olds. In junior division barrel racing, first place was captured by Sherry Bulklcy, second by Lorisa Decker and third by Marie Decker, all between be-tween 8 and 13. Senior division barrel racing honors went to Jody Porter, first; Camille Tebbs, second; and Christy Orton, third. The event included 14-1 14-1 8-year-olds. In the hide race, first place honors hon-ors went to the team of Tim Tebbs and Cherish Tebbs with a time of 12.8 seconds. Among other events: pig and goat chases (up to 10-years-old), j rabbit and chicken chases (up to j five-years-old); and ribbon pulls i (11-14 and 15-18). j Announcer was John Yardley I assisted by his son, eight-year-old Danny Yardley. Committee chairman was Mike Tebbs who lauded his committee members for their help: Kay En-glestead, En-glestead, Greg Excell, Brent Neil-son, Neil-son, Todd Trout, and Tim Tebbs. Arena boss was Todd Trout. The buck sheep were furnished by the Hatch Cattle Company and cattle were supplied by Greg Excell. Judges were Paul Hatch, Greg Excell, Rick Burningham and Doug Owens. |
