Show Hatch News Mayall Sawyer 735-4207 Arvel Steadbeck and Julia Steadbeck of Salt Lake City spent two days with Effel Riggs getting family history. Mr. and Mrs. Le-land Le-land Erickson vistied Mrs. Riggs on Saturday en route to their home in Bountiful. They were just returning re-turning from an LDS mission in Minnesota. Visiting the Ferrill Barneys at Las Vegas, Nev., were Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Barney. While there they went to the Las Vegas LDS Temple opening. Others attending the temple opening were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lowder. Beth Allred of Washington accompanied them. The Lowders also visited their children, May Beth Bailey and Velta Sawyer, in Cedar City. Kurt Sawyer and Brett Sawyer visited May Sawyer last week. Diana Sawyer, Benji Sawyer and Christal Sawyer stayed with May while their parents were in Orem, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leone Woo-ley. Woo-ley. Mr. and Mrs. Nile Sawyer went to Tremonton, where they attended the baptism of Nora Beth Pirtle. Her grandfather, Nile Sawyer, baptized bap-tized her. There they visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pirtle and family. En route they also visited Mrs. and Mrs. Leone Wooley, Orem, and Mr. and Mrs. Greg Hansen of Spring City. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Riggs were Mr. and Mrs. Don Ross of Enoch, and the Robert Craw family of Minersville. Leland went to Minersville and tended the Craw children for a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Evans spent a few days in Hurricane visiting Mr.and Mrs. Deloy Evans. Eric Sawyer went to Mesquite to spend the weekend. Elaine Sawyer went to Cedar City Sunday to pick him up. Speakers in LDS sacrament meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fulmer of Panguitch. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Nile Sawyer were Mr. and Mrs. Scott Fickett of Sunset. Alta Rae Hansen and Doris Liles visited here with family members. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patterson have gone to Ohio, where they will visit Robert's father and other relatives. rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. Layton Smith had grandson, Chase Goddard, here for a two-week visit. Then they took him home to Cedar City. The Andy Mortensens have a new baby boy. They have two other children. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Quilter and great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W. Kay Clark. The Thorley Johnsons have moved into their new home and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Rose moved into the Oscar Willis home. Golda Mclnelly has been here visiting daughters, LaRana Calla- . han and Edith Barker. Mr. and Mrs. Delano Callahan have a foster baby girl they are caring for. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Barker attended at-tended funeral services in Provo for Karen's mother who recently passed away. The LDS missionaries are living liv-ing in the home of Harold Lilly, who is in Garfield Memorial Hospital. Hos-pital. Carson Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Johnson, was ordained a deacon. Elise Ott is a new member of the LDS ward, she is living with daughter, Kathy Goulding. Doris Allen is the new spiritual living : teacher. Shirley Barker was sustained sus-tained as Miss Friendly in LDS primary. Speakers in LDS sacrament meeting services were Bonnie Willis and Lowell Mecham with a song by the choir. A special single adult fireside was held here on Sunday afternoon. Young ladies and parents attended a Women in Excellence program Tuesday evening. We are proud of our young people peo-ple who took part in the road show. The Robert Willises are in Salt Lake City, where Robert underwent back surgery at the Veterans Hospital on Monday. |
