Mohr Christensen ESCALANTE Mohr Christensen, Chris-tensen, 83, Escalante, died Nov. 16, 1989, in a Panguitch hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1906, Escalante, to Lars Christen and Mary Isabelle Spencer Christensen. He married Ruth "Dyna" Park, May t, 1946, Honolulu, Hawaii; later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He had served as mayor of Escalante Es-calante for two terms. He was a civilian engineeer during World War II in the South Pacific. He was owner and operator of the Moqui Motel in Escalante for over 20 years. He and his wife donated the land and much of the resources for the Escalante City Park. Survivors: wife, Escalante; brothers, sister, Loynel, Salt Lake City; Nick, Murray; Samuel R., St. George; Louis, Provo; Rolin, Orem; Norman, Escalante; Larry, Layton; Mrs. Kenneth (Shiralee) Pratt, Brian Head; nephew, Sherrill D. Alvey, Layton. Funeral services were Tuesday in the Escalante First LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Myron Cottam, officiating. Loynel Christensen offered of-fered the family prayer; Areola Gates played prelude and postlude music and Larry Christensen gave the invocation. Tributes were by Louis Christensen, Chris-tensen, Julee Lyman and Phyllis Alvey, with remarks by Bishop Cottam. Music included vocal duet by Lynn and DeLane Griffin, and vocal solo by Melissa Lyman. Samuel Christensen offered the benediction. Interment was in the Escalante Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, where Nick Christensen offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Sam Christensen, Chris-tensen, Louis Christensen, Rolin Christensen, Norman Christensen, Larry Christensen and Jimmy Park.
