Show CougarBear Open In South Utah When the Utah Wildlife Board recently adopted a new cougarbear proclamation, which calls for restricted re-stricted area permits on all cougar management units statewide, they inadvertently closed three popular southern Utah units which hunters had expected to remain open until Jan. 1, 1990. Because many hunters and their guides had planned December hunts in the LaSal, San Juan and Cedar Mountain units, (traditionally year-round year-round hunting areas) Division of Wildlife Resources Director Tim Provan, with Wildlife Board approval, ap-proval, has reopened the untis. The units will close to hunting at sunset Dec. 31, when the 1990 restricted area permit regulations take effect Cougar hunters are encouraged en-couraged to pick up the new cougarbear proclamation, which will be available in mid-December at any DWR office. |
