Show Campers Program Underway At Lake PANGUITCH LAKE Every Saturday evening at the Panguitch Lake campground amphitheater, the Dixie National Forest presents a 30 to 45-minutc campers' program. "Don and Phyllis Rothe of St. George arc our volunteers who spend their summers at Panguitch Lake and conduct the programs" said Bcvan Killpack, Dixie National Forest information officer. The programs include slides of the area, recreational opportunities in the area and other Forest Service programs. "The Rothes also discuss brochures, maps and books the campers can pick up at the visitor center located at the Panguitch Lake Guard Station," Killpack said. Detailed information about the free tours the Dixie National Forest offers at Duck Creek and Rubys Inn is provided. The evening programs are in their second year and have proven to be popular by the attendance. On some evenings, over 85 campers have attended. "AH this is a part of the total effort ef-fort the Dixie National Forest is doing to provide better public awareness and education about their national forests," Killpack said. |
