Show Panguitch Lake Festival Set PANGUITCH LAKE Plans were firmed up this week for the fourth year of special events at Panguitch Lake. Each year the early August festivities change a little, as special activities and events are refined and improved upon. With a brand new name "Annual Panguitch Lake Festival," the Aug. 5-6 event will focus on a fishing derby and the always popular row-boat row-boat race on the lake. The lake shore run has been discontinued dis-continued in favor of the now famous fa-mous Rim Run at Bryce Canyon later in the month. More than 20 boats are expected to take part in the rowboat race. Many contests are being scheduled horse shoe pitching, watermelon eating contests, pie eating, and others. Clever commemorative T-shirts T-shirts will be on sale and will be among the great variety of prizes to be awarded. The lake's resorts are each offering offer-ing different contests and different prizes, with all lake businesses working together to make the event a success. . The festival will also include a giant fireworks show by Doug Ferguson and his crew |
