She was presented a beautiful handcarved St. George sandstone trophy, made in the shape of the ; state of Utah, with the college's . name inscribed. ; See Best Teacher Page 2A Best Teacher From Page 1 Each year Dixie College students stu-dents pay special tribute to one instructor in-structor who has motivated students in a particular discipline with professional pro-fessional skill as demonstrated by all the qualities recognized by higher education. Students may nominate anyone on the faculty or staff. A selection committee narrows the field to eight who are asked to submit a profile on themselves from which the committee selects the winner. Smith taught early in her career at Bryce Valley High School in Tropic, and for the past 1 1 years at Dixie College where she was recently re-cently promoted to assistant professor profes-sor of business. She obtained her masters degree in education at Utah State University. She and her husband John have a daughter, Nikki. She is a daughter daugh-ter of Thiel and Bonita Anderson of Woodland and a daughter-in-law of Lee and Thelma Smith of Hen-rieville. |
