Great flights of ducks j and geese cross the valley almost I daily and the beautiful snow i storms help the already greening grass. j The storm drains and water pipe I portion of the highway project is ! moving forward rapidly. When one sees the amount of work that j can be done by big backhoes and ! dump trucks now days, it's easy to I feel admiration and sympathy for j the early settlers' struggle to bring j water into town with little hand j shovels. i Here for the funeral of Woody ! Young were all their children and j Veda's brothers Reed Miller, Dan j Miller, Nyal Miller and sister j Dorothy Cameron. Others seen here were the Clem McEwens, J. L. and Fern Crawford, Frank and Ce-cile Ce-cile Orton and the Ron Ortons, the Mac Millers, Maurice Hatches, and Allen Henrie. Allen also came to help his dad Ken Henrie with the cattle. Panguitchites James and Marva Haycock Sandberg, Cedar City, have returned from an LDS mission in Oakland, Calif. Kris and Pam Soper have moved away to be near his job at the Gunnison Gun-nison State Prison. The Robert Crosbys here visiting visit-ing his folks, Art and Beverly Crosby. The Eric Asays have moved to practice dentistry elsewhere. Barbara Leach and Alton Orton went to St. George for medical checkups. They report that the former Lucille Miller Farnsworth is doing well after her surgery. Betty Brown is home after major ma-jor surgery in St. George. The Jimmy Richards were here for son Ray Richards, junior prom. Denny and Jean Orton went to Salt Lake City for her medical checkup. Grandpa Kern Owens went along to spend a week with Caroline Owens Parkinson. Alta Orton rode up and back after seeing daughter Judy Mann. Dave and Karran Harris are so happy to be back in their newly re-I re-I furbished home after their broken water pipe catastrophe this winter. The State Trooper Craig Twitchells are grandparents. When there are two Craig Twitchells in town how else to define de-fine them? Nick Frandson was baptized a member of the LDS Church by his dad Kevin Frandson. j Jim and Evelyn Henrie are home I after spending time from coast to coast. They were with a daughter in Maryland while she recovered from surgery then went to Seattle to help with a new grandbaby. The Elders Quorum presidency gave the Third Ward Meeting program. pro-gram. A mission farewell for Brayton (Boo) Talbot was held in the Second Sec-ond Ward. He will serve in Idaho. Family and friends from the Bryce area to Milford were here to give him a send-off. Parents Doug and Christie Rich Talbot, Anchorage, Aka, were unable to be here. An Easter Cantata was performed per-formed in the First Ward. Joyce Marshall's family were here visiting Mayo and Hazel Rich. Russell Miller was called to be Assistant Ward Clerk in the Second Sec-ond Ward and Shane Robinson was ordained a Deacon. A number of people went to Hatch to the funeral services of Orlas Riggs. Gai Wilcock met Hope Dalton there and the sisters went to Las Vegas, Nev., to the funeral fu-neral services of a great-grandniece, Shanda Lee Frehner, the daughter of Debbie and Warren Penton and Dwayne Frehner, Arden, Nev. Daync and Gai Wilcock attended the wedding of Mary Beth Bailey and Curtis Schmutz in the St. George Temple and the reception that followed. They visited Judy Gai and Lamond Davis in Cedar City and saw new baby girl, Kim-berlee Kim-berlee Davis. AH of Gai's kids were here for her birthday except son Hal. Hal and Roma Wilcock came from Price the next week and accompanied Henry and Tonya Thomas to the St. George LDS Temple where Henry receive his endowments. Bruce and Bonnie Dalton went to Las Vegas, Nev. for the Temple wedding of Cody Baldwin and Jennifer Jen-nifer Dalton. Cody is the son of the Dale Baldwins and Jennifer is the daughter of area natives Dennis and Barbara Dalton. Jim Little, native of this area, died in Midvale. He married Sarah Houston. He was born at the little ranch above Hatch. Sara is a Pan-guitchite. Pan-guitchite. Art Houston, Roy, is recovering re-covering well from a recent heart attack. Best wishes go to Sarah's family and to Art. Debbie Orton, Okla., visited in town with her kids Matt Orton, Alicia Orton, and Shana and Sonny Orton. The Glen Leaches went to Salt Lake City to help Barbara's sister Judy Kann do some wallpapering and other spring work. Tommy and Debbie Johnson, Ely, Nev., spent several days with his mother Donna Johnson. |
