Show Bryce Canyon Friends and co-workers ot Kevin Brandt bid him farewell and best of luck at his goodbye party April 13. Kevin has resided at Bryce Canyon National Park for the past two years and has been the Denver Service Center Project Supervisor for the Historic Bryce Canyon Lodge for the past 18 months. Kevin leaves Bryce Canyon to take a National Park Service position as management manage-ment assistant at Mammoth Headquarters Head-quarters in Yellowstone National Park. The Bryce Canyon community commu-nity presented Kevin with a framed photograph of Bryce Canyon, signed by the photographer. During the farewell party Kevin singled out and applauded the help and expertise of his staff on the reconstruction re-construction of the Bryce Canyon Lodge. Mary Hazel, construction engineer, Tom Losea and Judy Losea, project inspectors, and Lee Jordan, project supervisor, and Mildred Jordan, clerk-typist, were given a copy of Bryce Canyon photograph book as a token for their long hours and efforts on the lodge. The final work and cleanup on the historic Bryce Canyon Lodge is continuing this week. Inspection of 1 the lodge last week by a team from the Rocky Montain Regional Office reviewed progress on the reconstruction. The lodge will open its season on May 1. A 40-hour week-long law enforcement en-forcement refresher course was held at Bryce Canyon National Park during the week of April 10-14. Law enforcement personnel from Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks attended classes, lectures, and field exercises to review re-view procedures and tactics used by federal law officers. Kathy Lee wih begin working in the ranger division as a park rangerfee collector this week. The new seasonals in the Resource Management division will be Lynette Johnson from Winter Park, Colo., who will be working on the peregrine falcon research for the park; and Charlie Schelz from Salt Lake City and Jan Passek from Bryce Canyon, both of whom will work on baseline inventor for fire research. The new North Campground Camp-ground hosts are Dick Reich and wife Edna Reich from Dallas, Tex. Barbara Reynolds has returned home from visiting her parents and sister in San Francisco, Calif. |
