Show Kodachrome Park To Host OHV Trail Ride Kodachrome Basin State Park, so named by the National Geographic Geo-graphic Society, invites OHV enthusiasts en-thusiasts to the park for a guided trail ride, Saturday, April 29. The ride will begin at 8 a.m. extending approximately 20 miles through the ever-changing hues found in the spectacular sandstone formations of Kodachrome, ending at the mouth of Wahweap Canyon, just below Grosvenor Arch. Registration for the event will be done in the park the morning of the ride. There is no fee. T-shirts will be available for $6. Steve Nelson, park ranger, recommends that participants bring a lunch, and reminds us that this is strictly for off-highway vehicles, as mountain bikes are inappropriate. Kodachrome is located nine miles south of Cannonville, in north central Kane County. Overnight camping facilities, drinking water, modem restrooms, and hot showers are available. An area with picnic tables, fire pit, barbecue grills, and electricity is great for group outings. Firewood is also available. |
