Show Dennis Rowley Staff Member Named To Health Group ST. GEORGE A Southern Utah native, Dennis Rowley, has been selected to fill the position of Manager of Health Promotion and Risk Reduction of for the Southwest Utah District Health Department it was announced today by William J. Coffman, Health Department executive director. "We are pleased to have Mr. Rowley joining the Health Department to assist in promoting the many services we provide in the Five-County area. We were especially pleased with the very high quality of candidates that were interviewed for the position and with the selection of Dennis Rowley," said Mr. Coffman. He also indicated that Rowley's varied background would prove valuable to the Health Department with its large number of health related activities. Rowley, a native of Cedar City, graduated from Southern Utah State College and his Masters Degree work is in Public Administration from Utah State University. He has owned and operated an advertising public relations agency in Southern Utah for over seven years and has worked in radio broadcasting in Cedar City, St. George and in Northern Utah, has worked as city editor for a local newspaper, has worked for an advertising agency in Northern Utah and as manager of two branches of a retail computer operation. He is also active in civic activities. Rowley is chairman of the Cedar City Community Relations Committee, is a member of the Cedar City Rotary Club and is Chairman of the Iron County Republican Party. He is married to a St. George native, the former Rexine McAllister and they are the parents of six children. He is active in the LDS Church and served a mission in the Brazil Central Mission. "I am excited about joining the professional staff in the Southwest Utah District Health Department and using the experience I have to help bring the services of the Department to the residents of Southwest Utah," stated Rowley. "It is an especially exciting challenge considering the variety of activities the Health Department brings to area residents, from the Home Health services to the preventive types of screening clinics like the hypertension and cancer clinics. We also provide environmental health services relating to sanitation, water systems and restaurant inspectios." Rowley also noted that the Health Department is heavily involed in providing health educational opportunities for children, mothers, families and community or church groups. |
