Show Tropic Council Selects Reed LeFevre as Mayor TROPIC Tropic town board members met July 16 to elect Reed LeFevre to replace outgoing mayor MonDpll Svrptt who had resigned earlier. Syrett had served over six years as mayor, being well into his second term at the time he resigned due to business pressures. During his tenure Tropic's new water system was installed and its sewer system completed. Board members expressed their reluctance to accept his resignation and the loss of his capable leadership. Board member Reed LeFevre, elected to replace Syrett, also is serving his second term and hopes to see Tropic's streets paved before his term expires in 1981. Afton Pollock agreed to accept the unanimous appointment by the board to fill the remaining vacancy on the board. |
