Show 1 Gem, Mineral President To Organize Area Club ' The founder and president of Color Country Gem and Mineral Society of Panguitch will be in Richfield the week of March 24 to organize a gem and mineral society for Richfield. The date hasn't been set, but persons may call Roger B. Brown at 896-5805 or Brent Bastian at B96-5900 for more information. Bill Niebel, president; organized the society with 65 charter members. The membership is now over 80. Niebel is retired and rockhounding is his hobby. He said southern Utah is one of the most mineralized areas in the state and the rocks can be made into beautiful polished stones for jewelry. President Niebel was also in Cedar City on March 18 at the home of Alva Matheson to help reorganize the old Cedar City society. Persons may call Matheson at 586-8269 for more information. Several other places in southern Utah will organize a new gem and mineral society in their area. |
