Show Tropic Topics The flu bug has hit Tropic and seems to be here to stay for a while. Almost every family has at least one member down. We have two new babies. A baby girl was born to Carla and Martin Ramsay on March 10. Grandparents are the Clare Ramsays of Tropic and the Bob Willises of Henrieville. A baby boy was born to Valen and Robin Ott of Casper, Wyo. March 13. Bob and Myra Loy Ott of Bryce Canyon are grandparents. Those missed last week who attended the funeral of Ellis Littlefield in Las Vegas were Clive and Thelma Bybee and Carl and Jean Syrett. Those attending the graveside services in Tropic were Renon Hodson, Christine Littlefield, Rulon and Evan Jolley and their sister Shirley. Heber Hall visited in Tropic with sisters, Dixie Shakespear and Clella Littlefield. He also attended graveside services for Ellis Littlefield. Several local people attended the funeral services for Saddle Rose held in Henrieville. Speakers in church Sunday were Guy Thompson and Evan Chynoweth. Eric Syrett was advanced to the office of a priest. Louise and LaMar Shakespear of Zion National Park visited her mother. Also visiting Ora was daughter Rosie from Cedar City. Rella Alvey, Florence Syrett, and Janet Pollock had business in Panguitch. They visited . Sonia Allen. George and Brian Jolley, Angle, visited Leda. Mark Munson took mother La Rene to Aurora to visit the Dahl Brown family. Visiting the E. R. Shakespears was son Ed from Provo and Vard from Wyoming. Keela Mangum and Ruth Baugh were in Richfield. Mr. and Mrs. Afton Pollock and grandson Stonnie visited in Provo. The new home built by LaMar Feltner is finished and owners, the Ben Riddles, have moved in. The Dexter Francisco family have daughter Pat and husband Wade Dotson visiting from Bagdad, Ariz. The - Spring Dance Festival was held last Friday evening in Bryce Valley High School gym. LaFaun Pollock accompanied a group of students from the school to Salt Lake City. They participated in special Olympic games. Alton and Louie Shakespear are home from St. George. Kent and Betty Wintch have returned from California where they visited family members. Kim Ott and friend, Tina Laub, visited the Wallace Otts. Bonnie and Jerry Mecham and their daughter Bobbie visited the Malen Mechams. Viva and Malen Mecham went to Cedar City. Sandrea Francisco had friend Wendy Stolkes from Parowan visiting. Sandy Keene has son Mike of California here visiting. LaDora Baugh had visits from brother Wayne Goulding of Cedar City and brother Rob of Escalante. The Fred Torres family of Cedar City visited Mr. and Mrs. Loral Barton. Dennis Wintch of Orem visited the Dean Wintchs. Kristie Talbot and daughter Kimberley accompanied a group from Panguitch to Cedar City where the girls are taking dance lessons. Stephanie, John, Sharon and Darrell Munson, Jason and Vickie Mongan attended the pine wood derby held by their church, the Assembly of God, in Richfield. John, Darrell, and Jason went, on to participate in the derby in Granger where John's car tied for second place. There will be a senior citizen dinner held March 20 at the Tropic Scout House. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the food will be catered by the Doug Ahlstroms. David and Katherine Pollock visited the Larvin Pollocks. The Ponderosa Promenaders held a going away party for the Tom Hobbs and the Jim Hannahs at Ruby's Inn. These two families have been an asset to our school and community. |
