Show 'Saturday's Warrior' Set "Saturday's Warrior," the highly acclaimed LDS musical will run for one performance only on Wednesday, July 11 at 8:00 p.m. in the Panguitch High School gym. The Doug Stewart-Lex de Arevedo musical has been running successfully for the past five years. All seats are general admission with advance tickets available at $4.50 by contacting a member of the cultural arts committee at 676-2737, 676-2403, 676-2634 and the Bank of Iron County in Escalante. If purchased the night of the performance, tickets are $5.50. The production deals with a modern LDS family and the conflict It faces when their oldest son Is attracted to alternative life-styles, which reject his religious and moral beliefs. Directing the cast of Saturday's Warrior is Bruce Hertford. Mr. Hertford brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to this current production. Hertford has directed over fifty major productions Including the Beverly Hills Playhouse production of "The Fantasticks." In addition to his directing assignments, Hertford has appeared In such productions as "How to Succeed In Business, Without Really Trying," "Oliverl" "The Fantasticks" and "Camelot." He most recently directed the highly successful new musical "Elders and Sisters" by Orson Scott Card. The show is being produced by Doug Stewart in association with Ensign productions. Stewart wrote the book and lyrics for "Saturday's Warrior" and Is currently working on the sequel, to be released sometime next year. Stewart has also written screen plays for "Where the Red Fern Grows," "Seven Alone" and "Against a Crooked Sky." |
