Ticaboo Developers Visit Town Location Recently a group of government officials visited the site of the Ticaboo development to become acquainted with the progress in planning and construction taking place there. The group was hosted by members of the Roy May family, Ticaboo developers as well as Mike Sewell, Ed Jacobsen and Dana Perry, of Plateau Mines. Some of the unique features that officials found of interest concerning Ticaboo were that it is the first city ever built on what is termed a "school section." The water system at Ticaboo is completely dependent on a well with all utilities planned underground. No drainage system is needed at Ticaboo as the sand 'will absorb all precipitation. Keith Rogers, coordinator for the community educat'on project at Ticaboo, was on hand to familizarize officials with Garfield County's concept of education for the new community. Interesting aspects of the uranium industry and Ticaboo development were explained by Sewell and May. Officials seemed pleased with the careful planning and skilled development that was evidenced as they made on the spot inspection tours of the Ticaboo commercial area, mobile home area, community education site, water tank preparations, the uranium mine and uranium processing facility site.
