Show Teens Injured as Auto Rolls On Utah Highway 14 Tuesday Morning Two teenage boys received multiple injuries early Tuesday when their eastbound compact automobile left the highway and rolled throwing both occupants from their car. The accident occurred about 8:50 a.m. on State Road 14 three miles west of U.S. 89. No cause for the accident has been determined. Investigating officers note only that the vehicle appeared to veer right off the shoulder of the road, over correct, traveling across the highway and rolling. Both victims were treated at the 1 scene by ambulance attendants, Panguitch City police officer, Dene Kay and EMT technician, Sheldon Jackson, then transported to Garfield Memorial Hospital. Driver of the vehicle, Steve Weaver, 18 of Kunab, suffered chest Injuries, a fractured rib and punctured right lung. Weaver also received multiple body . lacerations and a reported head Injury. He was first stablized at Garfield Memorial then transported by air with the assistance of Lifeline Shock Trauma Unit from the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. Passenger in the accident, Kri&t Hoist, 19, of Las Vegas sustained a fractured left hip, fractured femur right leg, fractured ribs right side. Hoist also suffered a lacerated ear and multiple body lacerations. Immediately following the incident it was determined on victim might poulbly need several units of blood the type of which the hospital was in short emergency blood shuttle was set up SUpplv, with additional highway patrol officers in both Cedar City and St. George St. George was contacted and an helping to transport the required blood. Steve Weaver, 18, of Kanab remained in critical condition Tuesday evening following a one car rollover .arlier that morning on State Highway No. 14, three miles west 1 of I S. 89. Weaver was stabilized sufficiently to be tranporteJ by air to Salt Lake LDS Hospital with assistance from speclallied Lifeline Unit . I |
