Show FackreU, Ott, Middleton Win Primary Election Incumbents Keith FackreU and Wallace Ott won over their opponents in bids for re-election to the Garfield County offices, Fackrell for sheriff and Ott for two year commissioner Newcomer to the political arena lists George Middleton as four-year commissioner opposing Jim Yardley The commission race was a close one in Panguitch precincts snd Hatch precinct with Yardley trailing in the other seven voting areas School board elections sumualted interest because citizens had the opportunity to vote in three non-partisan precinct run offs Kathryn J Thomas and LaMar Feltner got on the ballot by tallying 111 and 90 respectively. Teora N Willis got 71. In Precinct 4 Mervtn J Bamhurst and Nile Sawyer with tallies of 74 and 61 respectively got on the November ballot with Rick E. Burningham and Lynne Gregory trailing with 51 and 34 respectively The state election for school board members sends Ben F Mortensen, 367 and Ross B Den nam, 266 on the November ballot with Neil C. Rawlinson trailing by 144 votes. Candidates for primary election are listed with votes tallied by each town, showing results of the race Most voters voted on the Republican party because of strung races for sheriff and commissioners. Final votes will be cast Nov. 7 with the big race being between incumbent Fdra Miller. Democrat and Eldon Brinkerhoff, Republican for Garfield County Clerk position. Other officials will run unopposed; Merle Stowel, treasurer; Mamirn Hatch, recorder; Doyle Cottom. assessor; and those winning the Primary election, Keth Fackrell, sheriff, Wallace Ott, two-year commissioner and George Middleton, four year commissioner. Persons may register at Garfield County Courthouse at the clerks office any working day or at respective precincts to vote in the Nov. 7 elections if they didn't vote in Primary elections. |
