On the back Installed as new officers in the 1977-78 Future Farmers of America Panguitch Chapter at the last banquet were Doug Owens, president; Kris Soper, vice president; Sam Riggs, secretary; Mike Dalton, treasurer; Lynn Crosby, reporter; Arthur Miller, sentinel. Grant Houston and Earl Henrie were made honorary members for their dedication and help given to the boys the row are Doug Owens, left, Kris Soper and Mike Dalton. In the middle Is Arthur Miller. Group will lead 1977-78 year FFA Chapter Names New Officers, Gives Awards past year. Chapter awards given the boys were presentation of State Farmers award to Kelly Houston and Dennis Henrie, Dennis Henrie received the livestock production award and was given the $400 scholarship he received from the State Intermountain Production Company; Kent Sawyer, sheep production; Kriss Soper, swine production. Also given awards were David Fackrell, crops; Doug Owens, placement in agricultural sales and services; Craig Tebbs, placement and production agriculture; Curtis Robison, agricultural mechanics; Robert Veater, soil water management; Sam Riggs, wildlife; Mike Owens, horsemanship; David Lee, public speaking (the second consecutive year) and Jeff Owens, beef production. The outstanding greenhand who was picked by the boys and received a pin and plaque and $10 from Neil Duncan of the First State Bank, Robert Barney. Upper Sevier Conservation District awarded three freshmen boys for public speaking: Lynn Harding, first place, Mark Henrie, second place and Mark Church third place. |
