Hode Alvey spent some time In the Garfield Memorial Hospital after getting his finger in the lawn mower. It was his longest finger on his left hand and they took It off to the first Joint. Their daughters took turns helping them out Thais Griffin went to Panguitch to the Doctors who sent her to Provo to a Specialist. She was scheduled for major surgery Monday morning. Gene and family were with her. Emmorn Dodds had more surgery at St. George. Myron Cottam Is in the St. George Hospital recovering from surgery on his leg. Nell Wooley got word that her daughter Gayla Car don was in the St. George Hospital recovering from major surgery. Whitey Porter was informed that his brother Jack had a heart attack. James and Millie Mclnelly went to Richfield where he had an appointment with a Doctor. They decided to stay until Millie got the cast off her leg. Twila Mclnelly spent a day and night in Boulder helping her sister Veda Behunin get caught up in caring for her daughter and family. Elda Haws had a visit from her sister, Clora Lay of California. Beth and Rotis Coleman of Richfield spent the weekend at the Lovell Twitchell home. The Edson Alveys had Ar-vonne and Dee Whittaker and girls here from Washington. Norman and Ardis Christensen had business in Kanab. Hal and Lasca Woolsey of Kearns spent several days here at the Earl Woolsey home. The Walt Leibenguths got moved into their new home and have a new neighbor, new to them at least. Jay Porter lives next to them and Wade and Shelly Barney moved their trailer house on the ground where Jay had been parked. Lynn Button sold his trailer house to Boyd Cottam who has a job here on the oil rig. Lynn moved to Kanab where he has a job teaching when school starts. Bill and Dawn Griffin made two trips with son Brian; first to Snow College where he won first place In the one half mile and next to the BYU Invitational track meet 1A where he run the mile and took first place breaking slate records both places. Ray and Lenora Griffin went to give him moral support and share In the glory. The Claron Griffins and the Clyde Spencers were proud grandparents when John Spencer, son of Jim and Janet was voted Most valuable player in the Orem 9th grade when the team he was on took state championship. Geneal Shurtz and Clorine Vidrine went to Salt Lake City for some schooling on learning to communicate in regard to their respective jobs. From St. George came Ann Haws and son and Nina Riley here for the weekend. La Vera and Mary Griffin took his mother, Clarice to Panguitch to meet Afton Church and they went to Wayne County to Join the other sisters for a trip. Lee Liston came home in a volkswagon and reports Barbara came through the ear operation with a fifty percent chance of it being successful. Lane, Geraldine and Sheri Liston went to Salt Lake City to see Gary off to Indiana. Daniel and Orilla Cowles had Twila and John Michelangelo here from California, then their daughter Sheri and friend Patty McFadden came from BYU where they graduated in nursing. Chuck Wayne was home from his Job in Iran for a visit. Raylene Alvey spent the weekend in Panguitch and kept a dental date in Cedar City. Bonnie Smith had some ear problems so went to the doctor and he said she had a growth but it did not act like a growth so she went to Cedar City to her old doctor and he found she had a woodtick who was homesteading there and it did not even have a squatters right so the good doctor removed it forcibly which was a great relief to Bonnie. She made another trip back to make sure it had not left some posterity. Leda Mae foster accompanied her. Michelle Foster visited here at the Minnie Davis home. Freda Sisk and Norma Leming accompanied Jim Leming to St. George to see a Doctor about his hand. The Rex Aliens had son Vonn and family for the weekend. LaFaye Bailey went to Snow College to attend Mothers Tea with daughter Natalie. Ella Marie Beuhn was here from Panguitch for the weekend. "Have a nice day" that expression has really become so trite, why can't they change one little word and say, "have a nice night"? |
