Show Art Appreciation Month Under the direction of Michael James Clarke. Garfield County is having an art appreciation month to bring about a total art appreciation in the county and to get all those people Involved in art privately to become part of one of the three art guilds organized in the county. During the last art sessions held in Panguitch, Escalante and Bryce Valley areas, 79 parents became involved in the art program. A new class will begin soon with registration in Panguitch May 18 and hopefully, Mr. Clarke said, more adults will become involved this time. Mr. Clarke plans to teach art, drawing and painting, photography and ceramics. Anyone is invited to sign up. Under the direction of Mr. Clarke an art guild has been organized in each of the three areas. The pictures of these taking the past art instructions and the art of the students in the different high, schools will be exhibited the next three weeks. This week the exhibit is at Bryce Valley; the week of May 9 the exhibit will be displayed in Escalante and the week of May 16 in Panguitch in the new art center section of the Garfield Development Center. Also during this time, plays are being presented in all three schools and the band will perform at the same time. Mr. Clarke added, "I have been involved in art for the past 35 years and I have never found such extra ordinary talent as we have in this county." He urges all who want to participate in art to join the guild and to attend the art classes. From one end of the county to the other one will cross every scenic value and wonderland that any landscape painter wants to experience.
