Show Tropic Topics Ella I Adair 174-2311 Minnie and Verdella Nielsen spent the week In Ogden visiting with their sisters and brother. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mangum are the parents of a baby daughter born March 20th. Luella Mangum and Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Bushnell are the proud grandparents. Saturday will be stake farm day. All men of the ward, who can, are asked to go to Escalante to help during the day, The Virgil Pollocks have had their granddaughters from Hatch visiting with them. Ethel Hatch enjoyed a visit from her children March 18th, to help her celebrate her 92nd birthday. Beverly Wright, Dar and Vernon Hatch, LaFaun RaVae and Pollock and Ferriland Ruesch visited with her. Many of the townspeople called to wish her a happy day. The Relief Society held their annual birthday dinner and program in the ward cultural hall. The B.V.H. Mustangs had great support of their fans at the recent tournament In Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Adair and Larry Adair and Roy Chartson were in Salt Lake City on business. The Earl Jolleys received word of the birth of a new grandson born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jolley in Anaheim, Calif. This makes Ave sons for the Jolleys. Glenna Polock was in Salt Lake City getting acquainted with her new granddaughter, born to Grant and Darlene LeFevre. Elizabeth Barton and daughters, Fonetta and Floriene Barney were in Tropic this past week. E. R. Shakes pear Is in the hospital in Salt Lake City. Nell Wilson is also recovering from a recent illness. She and George have been transferred to Gulfport, Mississippi. Stanley Mecham's Sunday school class did baptismal work in the St George LDS Temple. Bishop Franz Shakespear accompanied the group. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pollock spent the weekend with the Larvin Pollocks. The Charley Francuscos had their daughters Robyn, San-drea, Helena and her husband Lloyd, home during the week for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Strebble and children from Murray, Esther and Elna Shakespear were at the Obie Shakespear home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Shakespear and son visited the Vernal Shakes pears. Gam and Shirley Haycock and family spent the week In San Diego with their daughter, Garna Kay and family. Speakers in sacrament meeting were Richard Garrett and John Benny. The high school girls chorus under the direction of Mrs. Karen Ott furnished a musical number. Waldo and Mae Reeves, from Cedar City visited with their niece, EvaDean Francisco during the week. Leola Ott is in Spanish Fork visiting with her daughter Gail and family. The membership for Thomas and Marilyn Shurtz Jackson were received and accepted In sacrament meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Malen Lit-tlefield, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Littleneld, and Vickie Ahlstrom attended the funeral services for Gurnsey Ott, a former Tropic resident in Salt Lake City. Mr. Ott died while serving an LDS mission in Australia. Amplus LeFevre has returned home after spending the winter in Cedar City with her daughter. |
