A fireside meeting was held at Mr. and Mrs. Dill Peck's home (or the youth group with Mrs. Cindy Fountain as guest speaker. On Thursday evening Sherie Ridley was baptized by her father, Bishop Ridley in the Escalante South Ward and confirmed a member of the LDS church. That evening Mr. and Mrs. LeFalr Hall ho6ted a mutton fry at the Calf Creek Park. Twenty-five guests were present Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Moosman and family of Orem ami Mr. and Mrs. Reed Moosman and children of Preston, Ida. are visiting at the Lorin Moosman home. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ormond are at his parents home, Mr. and Mrs. Carter Ormond. The descendents of Frank and Minnie Haws held their family reunion at Blue Spruce Park on the west side of the Boulder Mountain with 71 members present Mr. and Mrs. Neal Jepsen gave a family dinner to the descendents of Henry and Maud Haws with 41 in attendance. They were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Haws, Roosevelt; Mrs. Genevieve Weir, Pitts-burgt Penn., Mr. and Mrs. Val Jean Haws, Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Elvon Poulson, Granger; Mr. and Mrs. Sherril Alvey, Lay ton; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Morgan, Hunter; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Tucker, Midvale; Mrs. Da Winn, Richfield and daughter Billie Jean Newley, California, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jepsen and son all came for the reunion. Jimmy Ilea ton and family of Moab and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hansen were guests. The descendents of Dr. Alma and Gertrude Wilson held their reunion on the Boulder Mountain with about 45 present Including Mr. and Mrs. Koy Holmes. Richmond. Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilson, Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Wilson and daughter, Joan, Bountiful; Mr and Mrs. Max Wilson, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Williams, Pangultch; Mrs. Marjorie Griffin, Escalante, Linda Bonjourno and Gerry Hltt. California, Mrs. Ann Reynolds, Richfield. LeFay Coleman Is visiting at the Dan Coleman home. He said the Parley Coleman Reunion will be in Nebraska next week, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Coombs and sons are visiting relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Allen and family and Rayola Moosman of Hunter are at the Doyle Moosman home. Dr. Mont Bateman and sons of Orem came to see friends and to fish on Boulder Mountain. Professional actors from Glendale, Calif, now residing in Wayne County put on a three act comedy, "Love Comes In Many Colors." July 2 at the church. Mrs. Mary Jane Coombs took her son, Zane, to Salt Lake City where the doctors removed the cast from his foot and felt the operation was a success. Mrs. Leona Lyman who has been very ill is in the Garfield County Hospital undergoing tests. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Artz and daughter of Salt Lake City and Jack Lyman are here at the Ivan Lyman home. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Adair are visiting at the Cliford Ridley home. A group of BYU survivals came in out of the wilderness for the celebration which was most successful with a superb program, barbeque, rodeo, and dance. Mrs. Thirza Proctor of Panguitch visited at the LeFair Hall home. |
