Show The Word From Boulder BY ALICE ALVEY Afton and Sandra Lciben guth came from Escalante to spend Saturday with the Truman Lymans, Cleo Heed left for Cedar Monday to catch a plane for his Marine base in Calif, for three weeks of intensive trainging then will be flown to Vietnam. Out of the last ten boys here to go into the armed forces, Clco's the 8th to go to Vietnam. That is quite a record for a town with 100 people. Obe Wright attended a road meeting in Tropic last week and was told the roud which was positively going to be built down off the rocks up past Hall's store was being postponed for another year. Somebody's got more gall than a government mule to hold town meetings, etc and pull a dirty tricks like this. Dora Wright and Vilate Gri-ener attended a cancer drive meeting in Panguitch on the 1st. Uvon Roundy attended a Garkane Union meeting in Panguitch March 31. The Em-eron Petersons went to Richfield on business on the 2nd. Pai.i Hansen and Cecil Alvey are in Nev with C L. Ste wart and John McDonald claim staking. Veda Behunin visited her sister Twlla Mclnelly in Escalante last week. Bishop and Mrs. Uvon Roundy and Nina Mosman went to Salt Lake to attend conference and to visit some of their folks. The Relief Society postponed their 17th of March dinner out of respect for the Lyman family when their mother paased away, but since most of the food had been acquired and the program arranged it was held the 30th. only It was called an April Fools party. Dorothy Lyman was in charge of the program. Veda Behunin, Diann Hegstead and Leona Lyman, the other three presided cy members were over the dinner, turkey and all the trimmings. There was plenty fojd left over and the Relief Society held an extra work meeting on the 31st and served left overs lor lunch. They're making lots of pretty useful articles for the bazaar. Dot Coombs and Vickey Cole-man have been working like beavers on most of the things. The weather hs warmed up considerably the last day or so. The temp, stayeu around 30 every day for a week and along with the wind and the ..tonus .n the Mt. it was really cold. |
