Show Rebecca Orton, Oldest Citizen of Garfield County, Buried at Panguitch Funeral services for Rebec ca Allphin Orton. 98, were held Thursday. The crave was dedicated by King Morris, a grandson; burial was in the Panguitch Cemetery under direction of NaaJ S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary. Mrs. Orton died March 30th in a Provo hospital of natural causes She was born Mav 24, 1871 in Pine Vallev. Washington County to Isreal D"dgc and Susan Fmeline Damoron Allphin. She married William O-wen Orton on Dee. 23. 1891 in Panguitch Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS St George Temple They were the parents of 14 children. Mr. Orton died Sept. 20. 1938. Mrs. Orton was a member of the LDS Church, she served as counselor president and teacher in Primary, was Relief Society visiting teacher for 60 years, taught Sunday School and Religion Class, wss a member of the Loyhova D.U.P. She was a midwife and a wonderful woman to help the less fortunate than she, in caring for their sick, and any other work to be done. Her home was always a welcome place to be. She was well enough to attend the Golden Wedding two years ago for her daughter Fsta and husband Blaine Cox. Survivors: Orien, Pangultch; Carlos, Provo; Morris. Huntington Park, Calif.; Mrs. Blaine (Esta) Cox. Beaver; Ella Hill, Payson; Mrs. Allen (Ida) Faux, Sunset; brother, Dr. Donald Allphin. Oakland. Calif.; sister. Ruth Tebbs. Panguitch; 32 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, and 41 great great grandchildren.
