Show Cannonville Mae Twitchell Hello again from Cannonville. Visitors in recent weeks in our fair town are the BiU Buzz Johnson family, the Sherril Pollock family, the Marlin Johnson family, all of Salt Lake at the Doyle Clarks. At the Irving Johnsons daughters Dixie and Collett and families of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Henderson and son Darrel of Salt Lake at Alta Hendersons. Rachel Thompson, Laurie Holly and Carmen were home for the weekend. Nellie Hig-bee of Salt Lake was down with them, another sister Julie came over from Cedar City to spend Sunday with them. Mrs. Maureen Wyman of Or-angeville and new daughter spent part of last week at the Byrgn Davies. This is the first grandchild for the Davies and they are proud as peacocks. Martin Stock was home for a week before leaving to spend two years in the service of uncle Sam. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Palmer of Glen City, Glover and Grover Smith were at the Joe Hughes Sunday. Judy Twitchell was home from Provo at the Desmond Twitchells. Eva L'ou Dunham brought Joe and Alice home for a few days. They will return to Salt Lake Thursday where Joe will have medical aid. Aunt Fern Henderson is home after spending a month at Logandale, Nevada. Lorna Peterson, a daughter of Fern, underwent major surgery on her back at the Utah Valley hospital Monday, after two weeks in the hospital she will come and stay with her mother until she is able to take care of her family. Word was received that Dick Hamby was stationed in Germany and LaMoine was sta- tloned in Greece, they are the sons of Vivian Twitchell Reid. Word was also received that Ted Palmer broke his leg in a .scooter accident. Ted is serving a mission for the LDS church in England. He is the grandson of John Palmer of here and the Bart Smiths of Henrieville. Aunt Zine Johnson is in the Panguitch hospital recovering from a bout with the flu. Mab-in and Lori Johnson of Salt Lake and the Rulon Johnsons of Provo came down to see her Monday. Lori will stay for a week-with Zlna Proctor to help in the care of Aunt Zine. Mr. and Mrs. Clele Fletcher were at Salt Lake over the weekend on school business. Myrtle Baldwin is there for a week visiting with her children and on business. George Thompson and Bp. C. Angus Baldwin took a load of teenagers to the Temple on Saturday for baptisms. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nelson were in Richfield on business Saturday. Betty Nelson went into Salt Lake with Shanna to see Rob off on the plane for school in Kansas and came home with the flu. The way the flu is making the rounds I guess everyone will have a turn at it before it is through. Bp. Vaughn had an accident in the timber Monday, had seven stitches in his hand. Bill Nelson had an accident while shearing sheep and had to have stitches in his arm. Mel-da Davis had a growth taken off of her finger Monday It seems we are keeping the doctors busy. The George Thompsons son Joey fell off the slide up at school last Friday and broke his arm. George Thompson made a trip to Salt Lake to get more material for the chapel. Work is pogressing quite slowly now that most of the men have gone back to work but there is still progress being made and it sure looks good. There will be a carnival sponsored by the Primary on Saturday in the chapel, it will start around six in the even-,ing. Proceeds will go toward the building fund. Everyone that would like is invited to come. |
