Members of her family take turns visiting her, granddaughter Elma is here from Salt Lake and has been over several times. Grena Mclnelly went to Salt , Lake to visit Lynn and Judy Griffin and help Judy come home for her vacation. Shirley Spencer took son Marion to Panguitch for xrays and a cast on his left hand, he broke it falling on the oiled road. He was not riding his new Honda either but was pushiing on his Dad's car. Those hondas are getting thicker than flies, one kid gets one then parents of the others get the third degree. Former resident, Ambrose Shurtz has been here visiting relatives and friends, he is the only living one of that family, 88 years old and still active , and useful. Wanles and Dena Alvey, Billie and Minnie Davis took their grandklds fishing. Klynn and Marlene Haws went, ',.',- to Prescott, Arizona for the weekend. Iris Porter has her sister Twila and son here, they brought Iris home from Salt Lake, she and Kate Porter ' v- , went back with Harve Bailey ' ' after Lo- when he returned V- '"" Grand's funeral services. , - ;; Kate's girls, especially Bonnie, - ' were getting homesick. The Marshes just got home when they had a pone call that Shirley's father had fallen from a load of hay and broke both of his arms, so they went back over to finish the hay hauling. Those we heard of having business in Salt Lake City were Thell Barney, Blake and Gurena Robinson and Mil-dred Allen. Relatives here got word of the death of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Parker of Richfield, killed in a car wreck, she is the former Jenny Roundy. Ott and Hilda Roundy had Renon and Gene Reed and Vernon Dean and daughters here from Mon- roc. Beryl and Retha Shurtz had business In Salina. Ruth Lay is visiting in Idaho. Maud Reynolds came from Richfield and brought a lady friend, Mrs. Erma Newell from Tempe, Arizona, Maud stayed with her sister Nellie Bailey, and Mrs. Newell at the Andrew Spencers. They got acquainted the winter Andrew and Isabell were in Arizona, they took her to Boulder and other places of Interest. Tony Reynolds also visited friends here. Ed Lay had son Kim here from Kearns. Aunt Al Porter had a visit from a nephew, Fred Porter and family from Idaho, they visited other relatives and friends. Grover Smith and Ross Woolsey found that John Dreubay had mighty expensive flowers; they made a wide turn In Ross' car with Grover at the wheel and made a wreck of John's flowers. Nancy Dreubay and Winona Boyle went to Cedar City to meet the bus and bring Sherry home, she has been working in Salt Lake. Karl and Ann Spencer have gone on vacation into Mexico. The Frank Imlays had two of Ids brothers, Hap and Dee and families here visiting. We heard of several family reunions; Leo and Bemlce Wilson and boys went to Logan for a reunion of her people, the Gerbers. The Peterson family reunion was held at Pine Lake with 62 present, all of the brothers and sisters were there except Evan who was vacationing in Hawaii. It was the descendents of the late Will and Amanda Peterson. The family reunion of the I. C. Chris-tensens was held at Pine Lake last week with 55 present, all of the families were represented except Shirley's, Julia was not there but had a grandson, Larry came and brought his new wife. The Heaps reunion was held at Maple Grove with 84 present, the descendents went from here. Clarice Griffin went to Wayne county to a wedding of a niece. Wallace Roundy Is home and back to the homely tasks of haying and Irrigating. He went to Salt Lake, visited sons Glade and Vivian and families, then Vivian and family took him on to Mendon to visit son Floyd and family, on to Seattle, Washington where daughter Edna and family live, they had breakfast in Kenne-wlck, Washington with Ethan and Wanda Hansen, they visit-ed in Oregon with Jack and I-da Shurtz and Leona Leavitt (continued Inside) ESCALANTE (continued) and her family. Edna went with them on boat trips, they toured Canada and when they got back to Salt Lake, the daughters of Harry Ogden who visited here not long ago came and got Wallace and took him to their homes and entertained him royally. Ronald Guyman sent word for Linda Alvey and the cousins three to come to the BYU for a meeting, and wanted the cousins to sing. One member, Gloria Bailey is in Hawaii so Linda practiced to sing with them, so Nlckl Griffin, VicW Shurtz and Linda Alvey will sing the trio. Betty took them to Tropic where they joined some students and went on up. The John Zenz home had a visit from Bill and Buddy Bennett of Salton Sea, Calif, and Gilbert Merry of Walla Walla, Washington. Eliza Mclnelly had a visit from Lawrence Fallis and wife of Salt Lake. The Forest Service personnel held a party at Posey Lake, maybe now they will do something about that road, June Listen can tell you what shape it is in, she moves with difficulty. Don Coleman Is home moving carefully ar ound his premises looking at the weeds and everything else that needs doing. In Sacrament meeting Sunday it was High council day, the South ward listened to Marion Clark, Thorley Johnson and Berlin Osborn; Louise Lis-ton and girls made music. The North ward had James Mun-son, Chase Shurtz and Andrew Spencer. A 24th celebration is being planned for Saturday, July 23, with noise and flag raising in the early dawn, a parade and program. In the afternoon a kids dance, sports, and in the evening adult sports, horse racing and a dance. Everyone come and if you are not too tired maybe you can have some fun. Some entertainment for the youngsters is planned for Monday, 25th, pony rides, sports and refreshments. Sharon Dale Marsh went to Ephraim for a week's schooling. Eugene Griffin and family were here from Las Vegas. Roe and Clema Barney and family were here from Page. The Lovell Twitchells spent the 4th holiday in Richfield at the Ro-tis Coleman home.
