Show 4-H CLUBS NEWS FLAPJACKS 5 PLUS 1 On June 24 wo discussed Food Nutrition and how it gives you pep and go power. We learned what a Menu was, also why breakfast is important. On June 27 we held our meeting at Elizabeth Foy's. For our community project wc planted iris In front of the DUP museum. Those present were Douglas Roe, Douglas Crofts, Birch Moore, Howard Foy and Randy Houston. We did lesson no. 1, Easy Ways with Fruit. Our group met June 29 to begin lesson 2, Exciting Ways with Cereals. We learned how to cook cereals right, also that they give you food energy, the power to grow, to glow and to go. We met July 1 to start lesson 3. We learned that eggs are high in nutritive value and should be included in the diet at least 4 or 5 times each week. Reporter, Randy Huoston BUSY BAKERS We had our 8th meeting June 15 at Irene Alvey's. Irene, Janice Haycock and Chrystal Griffin demonstrated how to make date nut bread. Doreen Liston, Julie Shurtz and Lucinda Al-vey made root beer floats. While the bread baked we sang songs. We held our 9th meet- ing June 22 at Julie Shurtz's. Julie and Patrice Griffin demonstrated how to make a fruit Juice drink. Six of our girls are away on vacation. We held our 10th meeting June 29 at Patrice Griffin's home. We talked about a float for the 24th. Irene Alvey, Maureen Munson, Danna Lyman, Crystle Griffin and Lucinda Alvey furnished food for a relish tray. We learned different ways to prepare vegetables. Reporter, Lucinda Alvey TWO CRUMBY CRACKERS Janiece Feltner and I made Milky Way Punch a week ago. Last week we made Milky Way . Punch. Rachel Thomnson. Reporter TWO BISCUITS The Two Biscuits are taking Outdoor Cookery. President, Rex Fletcher; secretary, Benny Mathews; leader, Cliff Mathews. So far we have had three meetings. We have had hamburgers and hash browns. We have had our early morning breakfast. WHAT'S COOKEN We organized our club April 4, the name is What's Cooken, President, Maxine Henderson, secretary, June Ann Nelson; leader, Tonja Clark. We are taking III year cooking. So. far wc have had creamed onions, scalloped potatoes, cheese roll-up. Reporter, Judy Mangum OUTDOOR COOKIES The Outdoor Cookies had their first meeting June 27th at the home of Mrs. Carol Hatch who is our leader. We elected officers with Kathy Riggs president, Valerie Tennet vice president, Janell Miller sec. and the other members arc Jan and Mary Ann Hatch. Janctt Stowoll, Jackie Sopor and Lori-lce Heaton. Wc learned how to make fireplaces for cook outs and how to keep foods cold or hot. Reporter, Caroline Foy SNIPPING SNAPPERS Wc had our 2nd meeting on June 23 at Mrs.Thorson's. Mrs Hansen, County Home Agent, visited us and told us the qualifications of our practice article and our dress. Our teacher Colcen Burrows is teaching us how to use the sewing machine so we will know how when we start our skirts.
