Stukenholrz Dr. Doie V Skilled Scientists Of Farming Help To j Better Production Of Crop Lands : United States Steel Corporation not only produces and sells its well-known nitrogen fertilizer in Utah it provides service- with its sales in the form of agronomical aid and research. U.S. Steel has three agronomists serving the 11 western states. Dr. Roy C. Lipps, chief agronomist, is assisted by Drs. Dale D.. Stukenholtz, Jr., and Dale E. Behmcr. All are head- quartered in Salt Lake City. : The primary function of U. : S. Steel's agronomy program in the West is to develop a co- j ordinated company nitrogen : .marketing plan to sell, distrib- j ute and service chemical pro- j ducts produced by the Geneva Works near Provo. The three : agronomists also work with : steel products for farm use and slag for agricultural use. j Drs. Lipps, Stukenholtz and : Behmer are in constant close '. contact with research, teach- ing and extension personnel at j all recognized state, federal : and private agricultural agen- j cies; agronomic and sales per- sonnel of the western fertiliz- er and allied industries, ap- : propriate personnel in firms marketing steel to agriculture; and USS Chemical Division and associated personnel and : appropriate persons in . the steel segment of the business j who are marketing to agricul- : ture. . : The three U. S. Steel agron- omist have had wide and varied j experience in their fields. By : coincidence, all are natives of eastern Neb., long noted for its fine agricultural yields. : Utah farmers have already : benefited greatly from the ser- j vices of these three agrono- mists.
