Show Funeral Services Held At Escalante For D. Marcellas Woolsey On March 21 Funeral services for David Marcellas Woolsey, 89, were held In the Escalante South ward chapel March 21. Family prayer, Earl Woolsey; prelude and postlude music, Areola Gates; Invocation, Bishop Verl Mclnelly; song, "In The Garden", Singing Mothers; tribute read by Therold Woolsey, written by Norvilla Woolsey; talk, Harvey C. Bailey; song, "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" Bill Lcmmon; talk, Wallace Roundy; remarks, Bishop Morris Shirts; song, "Sometime We'll Understand", Singing Mothers; benediction, Benny Woolsey. The grave was dedicated by Harvey Moosman ; burial was in the Escalante cemetery. Mr. Woolsey died March 16 in the Panguitch hospital of natural causes. He was born A-pril 22, 1870 in Escalante, a son of James Brigham and Tyr-esha Mary Myers Woolsey. On Nov. 28, 1903 he married Eliza Avery Deuel in the Manti temple. She died Aug. 31, 1949. Mr. Woolsey was a carpenter and farmer; former Sunday School superintendent; assisted in compilation of "The Escalante Story." Survivors: sons, daughters, Alburn, Mrs. Forrest (Erma) Grace, both Lehi; George D., Vardon, both American Fork; Mrs. Lester (Golda) Mclnelly, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ardcn (Donna) Hatch, Koosharem; Mrs. Ralph (LaVern) Twitchell, Antimony; Mrs. Clive (Cleon) Newman, Ogden; 42 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, brothers: Sarah Heaps, Earl, both Escalante; Riley, Ogden; Parley, Salt Lake City. |
