Show NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Scaled proposals will be received by the State Road Commission of Utah, Room 608, State Oifice Building, Salt Lake City, Utah, until 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 1962, and at that time publicly opened for construction of a 2V4" Road Mixed Bituminous Surfaced Road In Garfield County, the same being that section of State Road No. 54 from Escalante Southeasterly 3.8 Miles, identified as Federal Aid Secondary Project No. S-0392 (5). Tho length of the road to be constructed or improved is 3.818 miles, and the principal items of work are approximately as follows: 555 Tons of Bituminous Material, 24,400 Tons of Gravel Surface Type "B" and 174,000 Cu. Yds. of Unclassified Roadway Excavation, The project is to bo completed in 150 working days. Prequallfication of bidders is required. Prior to any bidder's receiving plans and specifications, it will be necessary that the bidder have on file with tho State Road Commission of Utah completed and approved, the required Prequallfication Statement pertaining to contractor's experience and financial condition. The attention of bidders is directed to the Special Provisions covering subletting or assigning the contract. Not less than the general prevailing wage rates as determined by the Industrial Commission of Utah, effective August 1, 1961, shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed on this project. The attention of bidders Is directed to the fact that this Commission has been advised by the Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of La- bor, that contractors engaged in highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of tho Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, (52 Stat. 1060) Proposal forms, plans, cross sections and specifications are on llle in the olllco of the htato Road Commission, Salt Lake City, and tho otuce of its District Engineer at Richfield, Utah wnere they may be reviewed by prospective bidders. Speculations, proposal forms, and plans may be obtained at the Commission Olficcs at Salt Lake City, upon application and payment, of a lee of $5.00, no part of which will be relund-cd. Each bidder must submit a letter from an approved-surety company guaranteeing to furnish said bidder with required bond. Tho right to reject any or all bids is reserved. Cash, certified check, cashier's check, or approved proposal guarantee bond for not less than five per cent of total amount of bid made payable to the State Road Commission must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith and a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish contract bond as required.
