The pheasant season ov- erlapped the deer season; Wally Woolsey flew in from California bringing a friend to hunt birds. Thurman Spencer and Betty R. Alvey joined to celebrate their birthday anniversaries In a party at the John Zenz home. Minnie Davis celebrated her birthday a little late to avoid the rush, she had to wait until, her mother Sariah got home to bake her cake. Tho Beumont Griffins had Verda's twin sister Verna Partridge of Salt Lake here, her husband brough her and, went back, then Beumont took them both to Richfield where he was to meet them and take them on to Salt Lake. Ray L. Alvey and family came from Roy for the wedding and Ray L. got his buck, a real granddaddy one but he ruined the spread by shooting off one horn. The Wayne Barneys had their daughter Joan Semoinls and family here visiting. Bernard and Ora Schow took Aletha back to Page for a visit. The Randal Lymans had son Dick and wife Mary, and son-in-law Rcldon Palmer and son here for the weekend. Gerald Haycock and wife of Salt Lake were visiting relatives and friends here. La Vern Griffin was home for the weekend. Cecil Griffin took his wife and family and mother-in-law Nellie Bailey to Kane County to see the movie location where he Is working, some of the carpenters run out of a job. Gerald Barney and family were visitors at the Thell Barney home, Dale Barney has his army . call and is home for a visit before leaving. Spence Hay- m cock, Dale Lyman and Reo Roundy were home for the weekend. Stake Priesthood and Relief Society preparation meeting were held in the South ward church Sunday with a good attendance from nil the wards. Marjie Spencer, Hal Shurtz, Berlin Osborn, Gwen Lyman and Mr. Ashmore went to Panguitch for a meeting of the officers of the UEA, Ne-thella Woolsey went along for another meeting and to politic. Virginia Bauer of Cedar City was here Sunday at the Daniel Wilcock home. The main events of the week were the Halloween parties; both'MIAs went together and held theirs in the high school gymnasium Monday night, prizes were given in costuming, and Lana Norman took first, Duane Dutton second, and Jo Osborn, Jill Barney and Lana Iiston split third prize. The South ward Relief Society held one Tuesday night with games, a program and refreshments. Mrs. Pala-zola took first prize and De-anna 'Worthen second. The Elementary school put on one Halloween night and had spook alleys, witches and ov-ierythlng so realistic some fainted, others screamed and left, and some froze In their tracks. Our two granddaughters have about got all the trash from the barrels scattered around the yard again so they are thinking of going back to Washington; they, the Bund-rants, took Jim and Dot and spent the day at Little's Ranch and let me catch up on my solitude. Folks from Wayne County visiting relatives and friends heTe were, Will and Mandy Chidester, Mr. and Mrs. Von Forsythe, Mr. and Mrs Wayne Smith.
