Show THE WORD FROM BOULDER BY ALICE ALVEY Ronny Pratt was a very happy boy a few mornings ago when he was found after he had spent a night lost on the Bear Creek on Boulder Mt. Dozens of men from Garfield Co. joined in the search for him. That was quite an experience for a 0 year old 'to have. There are still plenty of clouds floating around but tho weather has been pretty hot again. Perhaps the rain is just holding off until the men finish their haying, Mrs. Annie Hansen has come home again to spend tho summer. Sho has been staying with her sons and daughters of Richfield and Cedar City. Mrs Vera Johnson and family of Richfield, a daughter, is here visiting with her and with brother Vern and family. Anna Leo is home from her job in Cedar City for a few days also. Seventy four persons attended the Haws family reunion held on Sat, 1st,, all descendants of Frank and Mlnn'.e Haws. Roas1 mutton with all the trimming was served. Dorthy Jean Alvey and family are here at the home of her folks the Heber Poulsons. They are part of the Haws family. I forgot to mention Flora and Darwin Peterson and cldldrcn and Berdell and Melvin Thompson formerly of Boulder were here for the celebration we had. The Clyde Kings and the Otto Haws went to Fillmore to the races last week. Ruby Ormond made a business trip to Richfield as did Leland Haws. Johnny King has gone out on top of Boulder Mt to work with Wallace and Stanley Alvey. Ernie Leonard, a friend of Johnny's came presumably to see him but spent tho day with several of the girls Instead. Nethella and Earl visited at church Sunday and with Richard and Marilyn In the afternoon. Speakers in Sacrament meeting were Truman Lyman, Case Shurtz and Usher Spencer of the Stake High Council. I can't give too clear an ,acct. of what they spoke on as it was extremely warm and along with several others I dozed off a little. |
