Show Fishermen Throng Local Waters Fill Creels On Opening Bay The opening day of fishing season Saturday on Panguitch Lake had most anglers getting their limits quite easily. The Forest Service In cooperation with Fish and Game personnel, made a count of boats and vehicles at the lake. Ranger Rollo Brunson reports a run-down on figures: at 6:300 a.m. there were 428 boats on the lake; parked by the Forest Service ramp were 137 vehicles while a complete count of vehicles parked around the lake numbered 759 by 8:00 a.m. Ranger Bronson said that the fish he saw brought In averaged about a pound each. Most anglers filled up on plump 9-inchers. The J. V. Hatch's young son Steven landed a 1 34 pounder while the largest trout reported caught weighed 2k pounds. |
