Show Bryce Draws More Than Every July Sets Record More persons visited Bryce Canyon National Park during ' the month of July than did In any month since the park was established,. Supt. Glean Bean reported last week. Visits to the Park during the past month totaled 68,887, com- pared to 63,033 In August of 1957, the previous record month. The total number of visitors for the year to date was nine per cent above the corresponding period last 'year, with thejlirst seven months of lfo& showing 156,404 visitors, compared to 142,670 during the same period of 1058. Public use of the Bryce Canyon campground has continued to rise above other years. The figures for July, 1959, "showed 17,120 overnight campground visits, compared to 13,967 in July 1958. Tho new Visitor Center at Bryce Canyon is. placed . in usu this summer- Exhibits explaining the scenic features of tho Park are now located near tho park entrance, where visitors can receive interpretive information -before visiting the viewpoint. |
