Utah, on May 10, 1956. for ell the live Umber marked or designated for cutting, and all merchantable dead Umber located on an area of approximately 1324 acres In Sections 2, 10. 11. 14, 16, 22 and 23. T 38 S. II 4H W, S.L.D. AM.. Clay Creek Chance, Dixie National Forest, estimated to be 1476 M ft. b.m. of ponderosa pine, 243 M ft. b.m. of Douglas fir, 493 ft. b.m. of white tir, and 72 M ft. b.m. of spruce saw timber, log scale, more or less. The appraised value of the timber, according to the long term normal market and operating conditions Is $6.80 per M feet b.m. for ponderosa pine, and $3.20 per M ft. b.m. for all other spectra. No bid will be considered which Is less than these rates applicable through the entire period of the sale contract, plus at least $1.30 for ponderosa pine and $.80 for all other species In this sale, which additional amount shall be subject to quarterly calendar adjustment upward or downward by 0.8 of the difference between the Western Pine Association base Index price for ponderosa pine for the period January 1, 1964, to December 31, 1954, determined as set forth below and the average of Western Pine Association Index price for ponderosa pine and Douglas fir as calculated at the end of each quarter. Such adjustments In the additional amounts for stum.' page shall be applicable to timber cut and scaled during the calendar quarter for which the adjustment Is computed. In no event, however, will the adjusted stumpage rate for each quarter be less than the basic rate first stated above. Tllddlng will begin at 10:00 A.M., and will be kept open for not less than 30 minutes, and as much longer as may be necessary in the Judgment of the Forest Super, visor to give all Interested parties an opportunity to bid. Each bidder must have In his possession a certified check, money order, or equivalent, payable to the Treasurer of the United flutes, In the amount of $2,00.00 as deposit with bid to be sur- rendered and applied on the purchase price If his bid Is accepted, refunded or retained In part as liquidated d amines according to Uie conditions of the sale. Sealed bids may be submitted In advance, accompanied by the required deposit with bid. Sealed bids will be opened and posted prior to the time oral bids are received. In addition to making payments for stumpage, the purchaser will be required to make an additional deposit of $.76 per M ft. b.m. for ponderosa pine and $.36 for all other species for the total cut of saw-Umber Included In the sale Into a cooperative work fund to pay the cost bf timber stand improvement. The right to reject any and all bids Is reserved.
