Show t Start Planning New School .The first meeting of the School IDulldlng Planning Com mlttet for the new Panguitch Elementary school was held on Friday, April 1, under the direction of Floyd S. Holm, Superintendent, with 25 members In attendance. After a brief orientation as to the vital responsibilities Involved In such planning, a commit-tet was chosen "'to survey the ' community and' make recommendations to the .School Board as to a site or location for the building. Members chosen to terve as a "Site", committee are PaTley Ipson, chairman; Hol-lle Vowell, Cleo Henrle, Susie Johnson, Bill Bruhn and Harvey Moore. Other necessary committees organized for work are; Kindergarten tchalrman, Mary Hen. rle; recorder, &ary D. Sargent; members, Vee Foyj Lynn Dickinson and Parley ;Ipson Primary Grades 1 & 2;. chairman, Hilda Gardner; recorder, Nlta Henderson; members, Dan Tebbs and Burnett Hendryx. Elementary Grades 3 & 4: chairman, Susie Johnson; re corder. Merle Heywood; members, Mamie Hatch and Andrew Johnson. Intermediate Grades 5 & 6: chairman, Millard Hatch; recorder, not chosen yet; members, Russell Merrell, David Rose and Von Daly. Multi-Purpose. & Lunch Facilities; chairman, Val Church; recorder. Grace Owens; members, 03111 Bruhn, Dean LeFev-re, nnd Harry DeLong. Miscellaneous; Corridors', Storage, Heating Plant, etc: chairman, Harvey Moore; recorder, Cleo Henrle; members, Ilollle Vowell and Henderson Johnson. The committee members were encouraged to read widely and study the needs of children in order to plan more wisely. Scheduled excursions will be taken by the group to new buildings In the state to see what is being done in modern school construction. This planning group responded whole-hearted, ly to their call and were most cooperative and desirous of do. tng .the best job possible In planning a community school for the children of Panguitch. |
