The President of the Timpanogras Canal j Narrowly Escapes a Fit During the j "Divying- TJp"' Process. i The meetintr of the watermasters at the mouth of Provo canon on Tuesday j was not as pleasant as it might have been. Nearly all tits irrigation com-' panics were represented, and James A. I Liveless was elected cha.rman, and Walter Scott secretary. It was unanimouslv agreed that the waters of Provo river should be distributed dis-tributed to the dillerent canals and ditches according to an agreement entered into between the different irrigation ir-rigation companies in ISSo. i It was then moved and carried that a temporary distribution of the waters m the river he made according to the best judgment of the watermasters, pend j inn the repairing of the weirs for niens I tiring the water. I The watermasters then proceeded to the Provo Bench canal and cut down the How of water there bv three inches. They then visited the Timpanozos canal and the president of that ditch nearly went mad because the horses took a drink of the water. In (iiiuiing the amount the horses drank he concluded that enoutrh water had been wasted to water at least one hiil'of potatoes. One inch was cut from the flow in the Upper Up-per East Union af:er a discussion which tasted nearly an hour. All the other ditches were visited and several changes made, after w hich the watermasters adjourned to meet this morning at 0 o'clock at the .sum-place. |
