There is no better way to get started on holiday preparations than making the traditional trip to the Mistletoe Mall boutique. This annual craft and gift boutique, in its 27th year, will be held Friday November 6th from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday November 7th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Gunnison Valley High School little gym and cafeteria. If you are looking for some inspiration for your holiday gifts ad decorating, the Mistletoe mall is the place to come with close to 50 booths to shop from. Each booth will display their holiday wares in a different way but all will have a ribbon of magical Christmas spirit running through them that shoppers will be sure to enjoy. When shoppers come through the front doors what they see there is not what they will see when they get to the back. Each booth will be offering different products at very affordable prices. In their effort to avoid duplication, Mistletoe Mall organizers have devoted a lot of time and effort in making a great selection of vendors. They will be offering customer’s quality handcrafted gifts, seasonal specialty items, unique home décor, personal items, as well as some very useful and practical gifts, along with some delicious food. Among the vast array of items being offered this year are hand lotions, bath products, unique tole painting, jewelry, and fridge calendars. There will be a Scentsy director that is just back from market with all of their new products. The Novemberfest Are you looking for a handmade, one of a kind gift for someone special? Come and see the huge array of high quality, handcrafted booths. We are proud to say that this is our 7th year with Novemberfest and we are still growing. We started this because we are crafters and wanted a venue to sell items without giving up a percent of our profits. With many friends in the same boat, we found a building and began Novemberfest. We were unsure whether it would work or not but we were pleasantly surprised that it was a great success. We had a good response from the community and a lot of great feedback and we were confident that we could make this work. This year we have over 30 booths full of home and holiday decor for everyone on your list. We are excited to have many of our vendors return each year but love to see new faces with fresh ideas and this year we have several new booths including Whispers Creek Wildlife (log furniture, wood frames and lettering, log quilts), Stampin’ Up, Unique Custom Paper Creations, It’s a Girl Thing (purses, charms, necklaces, hats, shirts, etc.), JNell Creations (girls and baby skirts, snugggle bags, Bohemian bags, car seat covers and more), handmade puppets, magnet boards, appliquéed onsies with shoes, wall hangings, wreaths and garlands, jewelry, head bands, I Spy bags, scripture bags, and more. Returning favorites again this year are Bumbles Watches, Bailey’s Spices, Debra Squire On Saturday the Lions Club will be serving their traditional and delicious taco salads, Sloppy Joes and chicken sandwiches. They do this as a fundraiser to help with projects in the community so be sure to treat yourself and support their efforts. The G-Gettes Drill Team will also be doing their annual Fernwood Chocolate fundraiser so watch for them. On Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Tammy Okerlund’s singing group, “I am a Kid” will be providing holiday entertainment in the cafeteria. This will be a treat that you will not want to miss. As the Mistletoe Mall committee’s way of saying thank you to their loyal adult customers, they will be giving away two fully decorated Christmas trees. They will draw for them Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. You must be present to win. They will also be having the traditional hourly drawings for everyone. It is requested that there is no early shoppers so that the vendors can get set up by 5 p.m., so while shoppers wait for the doors to open they will be treated to hot chocolate and cookies. Once again, for the customer’s convenience, there will be four separate tills in the hall to help things move faster. Checks and cash will be accepted but debit and credit cards will not be able to be processed. Organizers want everyone to know that coming to the Mistletoe Mall is all about having some great fun and their goal is to put a little joy in your holiday shopping, so bring your family, friends and neighbors and enjoy the Mistletoe Mall.
