Gritts Cartwright 1921 - 2008 Elder Jeremy Reid Centerfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Arliene Lucille Averett Robins Jensen Gritts Cartwright, age 87, of Centerfield, died October 29, 2008 in Mayfield, Utah. She was born June 12, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, a daughter of Thomas Issac and Estella Sorenson Averett. She married George Brooks Robins in 1939 in Salina, Utah and they were later divorced. She married Otto Jensen in 1948 in Centerfield, Utah and they were later divorced. She married John Junior Gritts, August 12, 1959 in Aztec, New Mexico. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died April 12, 1981. Arliene collected rocks and loved music. She enjoyed playing her Ragtime Player Piano and she enjoyed traveling. She worked with Dr. Rees in Gunnison as a Nurse. Arliene is survived by her children: Tom and Joyce Robins of California; JoAnn and Jim Moody of Arizona; Marie and Bobby Box of California and Carl Jensen of Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Leo Averett of Centerfield and a sister, JoBerta Malmgren Mellor of Fayette. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rex Richard Robins; a brother, Leon Averett and a sister, Donna Lovell. Grave side services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Grand Valley Cemetery in Moab, Utah. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in the Grand Valley Cemetery in Moab, Utah, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. On line guest book at: www.springerturner.com Vivian Marie Buchanan 1941 - 2008 Vivian Marie Buchanan past away peacefully on October 28, 2008. She was born January 19, 1941 to Neil Buchanan and Lucille Johnson. She grew up in Gunnison, UT and spent many years of her life living in Seattle, WA, Palm Springs, CA and later returning to Salt Lake City, UT. Vivian is survived by her loving granddaughters; Shana Madsen and Cindy Casper; two brothers; Jerry and Roger, a sister Charlene and three great grandsons who she adored so much. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Loni Casper. Vivian’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 795 East Baker Drive (7010 South) Midvale, Page 3 The Gathering 2008 of the GVHS Class of 1960 On Sunday November 2, twenty-three members, partners and friends met for lunch at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Orem. This year talk was about Tom Peterson passing and good stories were told of years past and present. The food was good, the visiting great and friendships renewed. To stop the conflict with church duties, it was decided to change the Gathering for 2009 to Saturday November 7, 2009. Eagle Scout Ethan Neil Ethan Neil will receive his Eagle Scout Award on Sunday November 9, 2008. For his eagle project, he has put together 98 humanitarian aid hygiene kits and sent them to the Humanitarian Aid Center in Salt Lake City to be shipped to those in need. Ethan is a member of Scout Troop 564. He is the son of Todd and Marie Neil of Gunnison.
