Maybe next time.” These comments were made as the students in my seventh grade English class opened the wrapper on the candy bars they had purchased in search of golden tickets. Golden tickets were all the talk at GVMS this last week. Not only could you buy them, these coveted tickets will be featured in our annual musical, “Willy Wonka.” Five golden tickets are hidden in chocolate bars made at Willy Wonka’s candy factory. Finding a ticket gives five children the chance for a life time supply of chocolate. Four of the children who are successful in finding the tickets are selfish, rude and disobedient. Charlie Bucket, the fifth winner, is a poor boy who dreams of making chocolate some day. With a cast of over ninety students, “Willy Wonka” will open this Thursday, November 6 and run through Saturday at Gunnison Valley Middle School at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and children. Come enjoy a night of Pure Imagination with Wonka and his Oompa Loompas. It is sure to be a “sweet” adventure for the entire family.
