Show Thursday, November 2, 2006 The Gunnison Valley Gazette Page 8 HEAT Program accepting applications The Six County Association of Governments will begin operation of the Home Energy Assistance Target (H.E.A.T) Program on Wednesday, November 1, 2006. The HEAT program is a federally funded energy assistance program that helps eligible low-income households pay a portion of their winter home heating bills. Applications will be taken from November 1, 2006 to April 30, 2007. Applicants must have picture identification and or Social Security cards for'all household members,.a birth certificate for all children under the age of 6, and a copy of their current utility bills. Also needed is proof of income for the prior month in which application is made, for example; if you apply in December, eligibility is determined by November's income. Medical expenses, child- support and alimony mat you paid in the prior month may also be deducted from your income. Sanpete County Bookmobile Library Director, Jim Ericksen states that, 'The Bookmobile services most of the elementary and two middle schools in the county, but it also provides- older mature reading materials ranging from the current best sellers lists to the more recent books available. We also carry a wide selection of books on CD, cassettes, DVD's and now downloadable audio book audio books, available through New Library. Patrons can use this service to download books to their personal computers or MP3 players." also Ericksen adds, "Patrons may also request books not in our collection through Intra Library Loans. These are books that we borrow from other libraries throughout the state for a short period of time and then return them." * * * ark Henline/Guiimsoii Valley Gazette Bookmobile Librarian Jim Ericksen in the new Bookmobile. The Bookmobile Library has a fixed site in Fairview at 75 South State, which provides support for the Bookmobile. The current total number of Bookmobile patrons is 11,429. The collection consists of over 35,000 print, audio and video materials. Total circulation or checkouts for 2005 were over 61,000 materials and total library visits, (or patrons coming into the library) to the Bookmobile and fixed site library in Fairview were just over 50,000 patrons. The Utah State Library works in conjunction with Sanpete County in providing Bookmobile sendees to schools and community stops throughout the country. The Bookmobile budget is provided by Sanpete County, the Utah State Library, North and South Sanpete School Districts and cities throughout the county. The Bookmobile is fully supported by the Utah State Library, which provides education, training and administrative services. The bookmobile program is a county-wide service which gives each and every household the opportunity to participate in its use. Without the support of its patrons, the bookmobile would not exist in the county.
