Show SPANISH FORK Covering what matters most B4 • WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2009 Park Courtesy photos BEE SWARM: Mr. Lee Wayne Elmer was out mowing the lawn about 9:30 a.m. on May 26, 2009 when he discovered a honey bee swarm at the bottom of one of the trees on the Park School playground. Recess had to be postponed while the school administration could find someone to gather the bees. Craig Findlay, a Spanish Fork High student,.came to the rescue. With protective clothing and a wooden box hive, he gathered up the bees. Thank you, Craig! The both the bees and the students are now safe. Riverview Courtesy photos SCALES AND TAILS: CarePlus Ultrasound sponsored a program for Riverview Sixth-Graders. Riverview Elementary Sixth-Graders were visited by an exciting assortment of reptiles presented by Scales and Tails. The program was fun, entertaining, and educational! CarePlus Ultrasound, Jay Thomas, donated the show for the students to enjoy. Salem READING GOAL SURPASSED: The students of Park School in Spanish Fork have gone beyond their reading goal of one million minutes of reading for the 2008-09 school year. Way to go, Park School students! Keep up the great habit you are in and have lots of great reading adventures this summer. Foothills Courtesy photo ROAD TO SUCCESS: Mikelle Henningson, Andy Martinez, Dalton Holman and Brynn Eyre were the grand prize winners from Salem Elementary in Ken Garff's Road to Success reading program. The Ken Garff Auto Group provided four bicycles to be raffled at the end of the school year. Students were given one raffle ticket for every 100 minutes read. Collectively, the students at Salem Elementary read 1,764,114 minutes. Good job, Salem Elementary, and congratulations to the grand prize winners!
