Courtesy photos FISH STORY: Salmon fishing has been a Cole Family sport for many years. Don and Stan Cole ffshed the Columbia River in Washington for 32 years. Each year their families have made the trip and caught many salmon. With Stan now deceased, Dori still goes with his family. This year only his sons, Glen and Michael; his grandson, Thad; and grandson-inlaw, Brandon Warenski, made the trip. They enjoyed catching their limit, which is a total of four salmon: two per day and four in possession. This year there was a good run of bright silvery-colored King's (Chinook Salmon). Last year they all took a trip to Soldotna, Alaska, which included their wives. There, they fished on the Kenai River. Don and Jane Ann stayed-there for 6 weeks, and the others each spent 10 long, hard days of fishing the Kenai. They had a great time and each brought Sockey Salmon home with them on the airplane. Pictured, above, left to right, are Michael Cole (three small King Salmon), Thad Cole (32 Ib. King Salmon) and Don Cole (38 Ib. King Salmon). The fish were caught in the Columbia River, Wash.
