SF Cross Country travels to PG Dave Boyack STAFF WRITER For the past several years, cross country teams in region four have held an early season meet where all six schools get together to run on the course where the region championship meet will be held in five weeks. The purpose of this get-together is to familiarize athletes with the course and find out where the teams are early in the season. Wednesday night the Spanish Fork runners tackled the 5k grass course at Pleasant Grove High School to see just where they stacked up this early. Bethany Carson opened up the season by finishing a very respectable 7th place among the 79 girls who entered. Her time of 20:32 shows she can run with the best. Sophomore Ashley Phelps was not far behind, in 12th place with another good time of 21:09. Soccer player Ashley Shelly had a top 25 finish at 21:56. Jenn Youd, another soccer player, finished in 38th place at 23:26, with Adaley Duffin rounding out the top five Lady Don scoring runners at 46th place in 24:22.
